1. Your VIN is checked locally

A VIN is 17 characters and never contains the letters I, O or Q. It also carries a check digit in the ninth position, computed from the other sixteen. We verify that in your browser before anything leaves it, which catches most typos instantly.

2. The vehicle is decoded

The VIN goes to NHTSA’s vPIC decoder — a free, public US government service — which returns the year, make, model, body style, engine, transmission and assembly plant. Every VIN gets this, including makes with no retrievable label.

3. The factory label is retrieved

If the manufacturer publishes Monroney labels, you get the one filed against that VIN as an unmodified PDF. It is the original document rather than a recreation assembled from build data, so the option pricing is exactly what the factory printed.

Why no signup?

A window sticker is a federally mandated public disclosure. There is no reason to ask you for an account or an email address first, so we don’t.

What this is not

This is not a vehicle history report. It will not tell you about accidents, title branding, odometer rollback or service history. It tells you exactly how the car left the factory and what it cost. For the rest, you still want a history report and a pre-purchase inspection.
